The projects listed below have been worked on by myself and a few others over the past few years.
1.2014-5.2014 System Center 2012R2 - Campus Living Villages
Build out new System Center 2012R2 suite - SCVMM, SCDPM, SCAP, SCOM, SCORCH, SCPORT, SCCM, and System Center Data Warehouse.
- Install and configure SCVMM, SCDPM, SCAP, SCOM, SCORCH, SCPORT, SCCM, and SCDW on a Window Server 2012R2 platform supported by SQL Server 2012SP1
- Connect VMM to Azure cloud for Hyper V Recovery
- Setup cloud replication and tenants within VMM
- Configure VMM to manage Hyper V and VMware servers in US, UK and AU
- Connect SCAP to VMM and to Azure to create hybrid cloud
- Configure VMM fabric
- Configure DPM for replication of all Windows servers
- Connect DPM to Azure for online storage of backups
- Configure DPM tape library and retention policies
- Configure SCOM to monitor Windows servers and Hyper V hosts
- Work with team to produce SCORCH run books for automating user creation
- Work with team to configure SCCM to manage OS and app installations
- Configure SCCM to push Windows hotfixes without conversion to .msi packages
- Work with team to configure System Center portal
- Work with team to configure Data Warehouse reporting
10.2013-10.2013 RDS 2008R2 Server farm - Campus Living Villages
Build out new Windows Server 2008R2 RDS server farm to provide application access for backwards compatibility of Windows XP and Windows 7 x64 PCs and laptops. Distribute remote apps for villages thru GP.
- Build out three Windows Server 2008 R2 servers to specification
- Install RDS Gateway, Licensing Server, Connection Broker and Web on primary server
- Install Remote Session Host server on two secondary servers
- Configure Gateway server for Internet/Intranet access
- Install Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013, System Center consoles and other apps on both session host servers
- Publish all necessary apps for access thru web
- Create app packages for deployment thru Group Policy
7.2013-8.2013 RDS 2012 Server Farm – Campus Living Villages
Build out new Windows Server 2012 RDS Server farm to provide application access for new deployment of the StarRez Student Housing Management application.
- Build out five Windows Server 2012 servers to specification
- Install RDS Gateway, Licensing Server, Connection Broker and Web on primary server
- Install Remote Session Host server on remaining four servers
- Configure Gateway server for access thru internet and intranet
- Install Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013, System Center consoles, StarRez client, and IT management applications on all Session Host servers
- Publish all apps for access thru web
- Set up Group Policy for varied application access levels
- Set up application publication to Windows 8 endpoints
6.2013 – 6.2013 Enterprise Vault Rebuild - Campus Living Villages
Manually migrate Enterprise Vault server from old Server 2008 to Server 2008R2. Redirect SQL server to new server and connect all vault shares to new server.
- Build out new Windows Server 2008R2
- Download and install prerequisites for Enterprise Vault 9.4
- Download and install Enterprise Vault 9.4
- Install MSMQ feature on EV server and connect to Exchange
- Setup secondary hard drive with EV index and EV cache
- Copy all pertinent files from old server to new server
- Reconnect new EV server with archives on file server
- Run SQL commands to point database server to new EV server
- Setup scripts for backing up server – placing server into backup mode and taking out of backup mode on a set schedule
- Setup web access for Vault
2.2013 – 8.2013 Windows Server 2012/StarRez Server – Campus Living Villages
Build out new Windows Server 2012 app, file and SQL Server 2012SP1 database server for support of StarRez student management application.
- Create three new servers using Windows Server 2012
- Install prerequisites for SQL Server 2012 SP1 on a single server
- Install SQL Server 2012 SP1
- Install File server role on second server
- Install Application server and Web server roles on third server
- Create security groups in Active Directory based on levels of access per village and corporate
- Setup SMTP receive connector for application
- Configure email settings in StarRez to send from designated accounts in StarRez
- Configure IIS to support multiple site access from external users
- Work with Network Engineer to provide external access thru firewalls
